"Territory: Frontiers in Public Art " opens to the public today at Armazém das Artes in Alcobaça, featuring a major exhibition that brings together ten internationally renowned artists who live or work in Portugal, each exploring a distinct frontier of contemporary public art.

Join us to celebrate the opening of Territory, featuring many of the participating artists, for an evening of food, drinks, music, and DJs, with sound by the PeixePeixePeixe collective.

The opening celebration is free and open to everyone.

At Armazém das Artes, the ten artists present large-scale installations that engage directly with the building’s architecture, accompanied by a selection of gallery works spanning mural art, painting, sculpture, installation, light art, language, and technology.

The exhibition also features a new collaborative mural covering the facade of the Armazém das Artes, created by the participating artists.

"Territory " marks the start of an 18-month cultural program that extends beyond Alcobaça, with new editions in Óbidos and Sines in 2027.
